Privacy Policy

The short version

The one exception is the optional mailing list on this website, which is a website feature rather than an app feature. It is covered in full below.

What the apps store

All data is stored locally on your device only, using your phone’s built-in secure storage. None of it is ever transmitted to us or to any third party. The sections below list exactly what each app keeps.

IyalPace

IyalPace stores the following on your device:

• The transactions you log — amounts, categories, dates and notes
• Your monthly income figure and fixed costs
• Your savings entries
• Your app preferences — appearance, notification settings
• Your Pro unlock status, once Pro is available

IyalPace has no bank connection of any kind. It never asks for banking credentials, never uses an aggregator such as Plaid or TrueLayer, and cannot read your accounts. You enter what matters, and only that exists.

To erase everything: Settings → Reset all data inside the app, or uninstall it.

IyalSip

IyalSip stores the following on your device:

• Your water intake entries — amounts and timestamps
• Your daily hydration goal
• Your app preferences — theme, language, notification settings
• Your Pro unlock status

IyalSip does not currently write to or read from Apple Health. If Health sync ships in a future version it will be strictly opt-in, and the data will move between the app and Apple Health on your device only — never through us.

To erase everything: Settings → Clear all data inside the app, or uninstall it.

IyalGarage

IyalGarage is not yet released. When it launches it will store the following on your device:

• Your vehicles — name, year, fuel type and, if you enter it, registration
• Expense entries — fuel, insurance, loan, tax, service, repairs
• Odometer readings, litres and kWh, where you choose to enter them
• Recurring cost definitions
• Your app preferences — appearance, language, currency
• Your Pro unlock status

IyalGarage requests no location permission and contains no telemetry. Odometer readings are numbers you type in; the app does not track where you drive, and it will never share running-cost data with an insurer, dealership or advertiser.

What we never collect

No Iyal app collects any of the following, in any version:

• Your name or any personal identifier
• Your email address (inside the app — see the mailing list for the website)
• Your location, coarse or precise
• Usage analytics or behavioural tracking
• Crash reports or diagnostics that identify you
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Contacts, photos, calendar or microphone data
• Any information from third-party data brokers

The mailing list

This website offers an optional email form so you can be told when an app launches or a major update ships. This is the only place Iyal collects anything, and it is entirely voluntary.

• What we collect: the email address you type, and which app page you submitted from, so we only email you about things you asked about.
• Where it goes: the form is handled by Netlify Forms, our website host. Submissions are stored in our Netlify account and are governed by Netlify’s privacy policy.
• Legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the form (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
• What we send: one email per launch or major update. No newsletter, no drip sequence, no third-party offers.
• We never sell, rent or share the list with anyone.
• Unsubscribing: every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, or email us and we will delete your address the same week.
• Retention: addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, or deleted after 24 months of an unused list, whichever comes first.

Joining the list is never required to download or use any Iyal app.

In-app purchases

Where paid features exist, purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Iyal apps receive only a confirmation that a purchase completed — no payment details, no card numbers, no billing address. Apple’s own privacy policy governs that transaction, and we have no access to your payment information at any point.

Every paid unlock in an Iyal app is a one-time purchase. There are no subscriptions.

Third-party services

Iyal apps integrate with no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking service. There are no SDKs in any Iyal app that collect data on our behalf. The apps make no network requests except to the App Store for purchase verification, which is handled entirely by the operating system.

One clarification, in the spirit of full transparency: Iyal apps contain no crash-reporting SDK and send us no diagnostics directly. If a crash report ever reaches us, it is only through Apple’s built-in, operating-system-level reporting — and only if you switched that sharing on yourself (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements). In that case Apple collects it under its own policy, strips anything that identifies you, and shares it with us in anonymised, aggregated form only. Such reports contain technical crash details — never your transactions, balances, intake or anything else you entered. You can turn the setting off at any time.

This website loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. That request tells Google your IP address and browser, as any web request does; it sets no cookies and we receive nothing from it. The site itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Deleting your data

Because your data lives only on your device, you control it entirely. There is no account to close and no server-side record to request deletion of.

• IyalPace — Settings → Reset all data
• IyalSip — Settings → Clear all data
• IyalGarage — Settings → Reset all data (at launch)
• Everything at once — uninstall the app
• Mailing list — unsubscribe link, or email us

Apart from a mailing-list address you chose to give us, there is nothing on our end to delete, because there is nothing on our end.

Children

Iyal apps do not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age. Since the apps collect no personal data at all, no special provisions are required for children beyond the standard App Store age ratings. The mailing list is not directed at children, and we ask that under-16s do not submit an address without a parent’s consent.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the European Union or the UK, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, correct, port and delete personal data held about you, and the right to withdraw consent.

In practice we hold no personal data about you unless you joined the mailing list, in which case we hold one email address and the page you submitted from. Contact us at the address below and we will act on any request within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way — for example if a future feature requires any form of data collection — we will update this page and revise the date at the top. We will never introduce data collection without being explicit about what is collected, why, and how to opt out.

We have no interest in your personal data. That is by design, and it will stay that way.
